Rhinoplasty is more commonly known as a nose job. It is a cosmetic procedure where the nose is reshaped. Common modifications include increasing or reducing the size of the nose, widening or narrowing the nostril span, and changing the tip or reshaping the bridge of the nose.
If you’re wondering how in hell’s name is this done without hell breaking lose, it’s like this. The procedure begins by cutting an incision from inside the nose or outside starting from the tissue separating the nostrils. After the skin is temporarily removed from the cartilage and bone, the surgeon then goes on to do the modifications the patient wanted.
After the modification is finished, the skin is replaced on the framework and stitches it close. A splint is then applied to the nose to help it maintain the new shape during the course of recovery.
